Abstract Suppressionism exists as a poetry manuscript, perhaps more aptly referred to as a manifesto, an eponymous poem within it, and a proposal for conceptual theater. Imagine a book containing two-dimensional suppressionist poems, one in which readers may opt in to a social media extension in which the suppressionist experience unfolds beyond the page. Additionally, a stage play might depict the inner world of suppressionism and similarly allow for ticket holders to opt in to experience the suppressionist poem in dramatic action in public spaces beyond the theatre.

The piece is painted in actions
With layering imbued phrases
In the wind on their many tongues
To reframe others’ (art) as phases.
[A common saying] : abstract shun.
E’very cut sharpens perceptions
And waves sculpt one into ocean,
The eye now primed to see suns,
Light behind canvas and faces.
In the wake of each strike done,
Your mind a poem in ekphrasis,
Away from, into, drifting, none.
You once felt what will soon weigh less
In a sense, to become someone
No longer of your will alone.
You might stumble through haze, a maze[d]
To find nothing, to be undone, as
A song heard’s lyric, a book read, sung,
Take on weight, like smoke in a lung.
And when the poem takes root one day,
A man in the street echoes you
In a way Heraclitus would say
A word will never mean twice, this is true,
Exactly what you feel to be now so blue,
Though perhaps darker, yes, this is not new,
As form becomes clearer, undeniable to you,
While others are blind, seeing abstract hue
And nothing but clouds obscuring anew
Significance beyond the veil and You.
